Benchmark Concerts, these concerts were started with seed funding from the Myer Foundation to offer professional solo opportunities to leading young Australian string players. 

Concerto Concerts, A notable feature of MSE is that each of its member has the opportunity to perform a concerto with the ensemble. Traditionally, these concerts are in December at Melba Hall, Melbourne University.

Other Performances, These are occasions where MSE performs chamber music and other string pieces with youth music groups in Australia and overseas, in charities for Rotary and Rotarac, in the Melbourne International Flower and Garden show, on special occasions for the Australian Embassy in Berlin and DAIMLERCHRYSLER.
